MegaFlood Gen 2 advances Tigerlight’s proven industrial LED floodlighting platform with a new generation of engineering.
MegaFlood Gen 2 advances Tigerlight’s proven industrial LED floodlighting platform with a new generation of engineering.
A redesigned LED module architecture delivers higher lumen output, greater efficacy and reduced power demand from a smaller, lighter platform; giving lighting designers greater flexibility to engineer efficient, high-output solutions for demanding mining, infrastructure, transport and industrial applications.
The Engineering Behind Gen 2
The engineering change starts at LED level. Each MegaFlood Gen 2 module uses 36 Nichia 3535 219A LEDs — double the 18 LEDs used in Gen 1 — while maintaining a similar total module power input.
With twice as many LEDs sharing the load, each LED operates at a lower forward current. This reduces the electrical and thermal load at LED level, improving efficiency and increasing luminaire efficacy.
More LEDs sharing the load. Lower current per LED. More lumens from every watt

Why Lower Current Matters?
Lowering the forward current through each LED allows the LED array to operate at a more efficient point. Less electrical energy is lost as heat, reducing thermal load at LED level and allowing more of the available power to be converted into useful light.
For industrial floodlighting, where luminaires may operate for long hours and in demanding ambient conditions, this creates a more efficient foundation for delivering higher output without simply increasing power.

Less current through each LED
Distributing the electrical demand across more LEDs reduces the forward current required at each individual LED.
Reduced thermal load at LED level
Lower drive current reduces heat generation, easing the thermal demand within the luminaire.
More of the available power becomes light.
Operating LEDs at a lower current improves their efficiency, reducing the energy lost as heat.
More lumens from every watt
The result is greater luminous efficacy, enabling MegaFlood Gen 2 to deliver more light from the available power.
The higher-output Gen 2 platform gives lighting designers greater flexibility in how they configure each project. Retain the module count to deliver more light from the same configuration or use fewer modules to achieve the required lumen package with a smaller, lighter luminaire, creating more options to optimise power demand, fitting size and weight for the application.
Engineering: Proven with numbers
Compare MegaFlood Gen 2 with the previous generation and see how the new LED architecture translates into higher output, greater efficacy and a smaller, lighter platform.
MegaFlood Gen 2 translates higher output and improved efficacy into practical advantages across lighting design, installation and asset management.
For lighting designers, greater output per module creates more flexibility to achieve the required lumen package, including the potential to specify lower-wattage or more compact configurations. Combined with 19 optical distributions and control options, the MegaFlood platform provides the flexibility to manage light precisely across demanding industrial applications.
For contractors, installers and asset owners, selected Gen 2 configurations are smaller and lighter, with reduced effective projected area (EPA), supporting easier handling and providing greater flexibility around installation and existing infrastructure.
The result is a platform that gives project teams more options to achieve the required lighting outcome with less power, less weight, and a more compact luminaire.
MegaFlood is Tigerlight’s modular industrial floodlighting platform, engineered to give lighting designers greater flexibility across demanding applications. With scalable configurations, 19 optical distributions and multiple control options, the platform can be tailored to project-specific requirements for light output, distribution and installation.
From mining, ports and rail to hardstands, sporting precincts, car parks and industrial facilities, MegaFlood combines high-output LED technology with precise optical control and a modular architecture engineered for real-world applications.
MegaFlood Gen 2 takes that platform further. Higher output and greater efficacy create more configuration possibilities, while smaller, lighter models can simplify handling and reduce effective projected area.
