We are currently hiring for the following roles:

Senior Business Development Manager – Western Australia

Location: Perth (Wangara base), with travel across Western Australia
Reports to: National Sales Leadership

Role Purpose

Tigerlight is seeking a senior, commercially driven Business Development Manager to establish and grow our presence in Western Australia.

This is a high-autonomy, new business–focused role responsible for building a strong pipeline, winning key projects, and developing long-term customer relationships across councils, mining, industrial, infrastructure, and sports lighting markets.

You will act as Tigerlight’s lead representative in WA, responsible for turning market opportunity into revenue while maintaining strong commercial discipline.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12–18 months:

  • Tigerlight is recognised by a wider audience as a credible supplier across key WA segments
  • A qualified pipeline of $2M–$4M+ is established
  • Multiple new key accounts secured across priority sectors
  • Early project wins delivered with strong margins
  • A repeatable base of opportunities and relationships is in place

First 90 Days

  • Identify and map 30–50 target accounts across key segments
  • Complete 20+ meaningful customer meetings (contractors, mine sites, councils, wholesalers, etc.)
  • Establish an initial pipeline of $300k – $500k
  • Build early engagement with key wholesalers and partners

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across WA
  • Engage directly with mining operators, contractors, and industrial clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, solution development, pricing, negotiation, and close
  • Build a strong pipeline across multiple sectors (not reliant on a small number of projects)

Market & Relationship Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with:
    • Electrical wholesalers
    • Electrical contractors
    • Lighting consultants and engineers
    • Heavy Industrial and Mine Sites
  • Represent Tigerlight at site visits, industry events, and networking opportunities
  • Increase awareness of Tigerlight’s reputation as a reliable, high-performance lighting supplier

Solution & Tender Selling

  • Work closely with internal teams to develop practical, cost-effective lighting solutions
  • Lead or support tenders and major project submissions
  • Clearly communicate Tigerlight’s value proposition:
    • Performance
    • Reliability
    • customisability
    • Lifecycle value
    • Solar options

Commercial Discipline

  • Price opportunities in line with company margin targets
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline visibility
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline, activity, and market insights

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Sales (national alignment and shared learnings)
    • Marketing (local campaigns, case studies, WA messaging)
    • Operations (lead times, delivery planning)
    • Lighting Design (technical compliance and optimisation)

Authority & Autonomy

  • Operates with a high level of independence in WA
  • Responsible for building and managing their own territory
  • Commercial authority within agreed pricing frameworks
  • Acts as a senior, trusted representative of the business

Key Performance Indicators

  • Sales revenue and gross margin performance (target ≥ company benchmark)
  • Pipeline development (target: $2M+ within 6 months)
  • Number and quality of new accounts established
  • Conversion rate of opportunities
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Consistent sales activity and market engagement

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales or business development
  • Strong track record of winning new business and building pipelines
  • Experience in electrical, lighting, solar, industrial, or infrastructure sectors
  • Proven ability to sell into complex environments (councils, mining, major projects)
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a geographically dispersed market
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Desirable

  • Established WA network (contractors, consultants, councils, mining)
  • Experience with high-performance LED systems
  • Exposure to large project and specification-driven sales
